We need to book, and I would like to know about the golf for my husband. Also how the night life is at SDR? Is it easy for a person to match up with other golfers?
Thank you!

Hello, Ill give the best info I can. I'm not a Golfer but I have been To SDR
2x. From what I remember the Golfers liked it quite a bit and had no problem "hooking up" with other Golfers. we met a few couples who met golfers and had a great time on the links. Forone couple, Since only the hubby was the golfer, it seemed easy for him to find others to tee up with.. .. . I hope this helps a little.. .. . Have fun!

night life is not so good at SDR but i hear it's that way at all sandals. basically you're going to have the dinner time, then they'll have a nightly entertainment at the forum which about 50 people will go to (absolute tops) and then everyone hibernates to their rooms for freaky freaky cuz they're all honeymooners. the only thing left after that is about a dozen people in the piano bar. that's where we hung out a lot and met LOTS of cool friends there. the piano bar really is pretty cool because not everyone goes there. very intimate party scene. anyway, there's my two cents on the night life. didn't golf any.

I agree with dr.. .. . The night life at royal Bahamian was more happening than sdr.. .. . but SDR was a blast.. .. . I always get so carries away at the piano bar!! Its the freakin' red stripe!!

I think the nightlife at SRB was more active since they were not all honeymooners. When we were there, there was convention going on. Plus, I think because it is so close to the Florida and easier to get there for a lot of people, there are people who like to party. The piano bar is the best place to be at SDR. We noticed, though, that you need to get there early and get a place at the piano. At SRB everybody was standing around the piano. At SDR, after all the seats were gone, most people just sat at the table around. The discos were dead in both places.

We were going to play golf but ran out of time. Golf is at no cost, but you do have to pay for a caddie (Jamaican law) at about $18 per person. I heard that the course is really nice. Don't be fooled by the brochure saying there is a small course at the resort. It was a joke, but fun. Not for the serious golfer.

Thanks for the help. Would you go to SDR again? I have never been to Jamaica, but my husband was at a resort in Negril for work. We have done the Palace resorts in Cancun and liked those,so do these kind of compare to those? I am happy with sun and drinks and my book, asl long as there are no phones.
Thank you!

I would definitely go to Jamaica again. I did love SDR! We were with another coouple so we made our own fun at night. The resort is great! I am thinking about trying the Whitehouse next year. We also stopped in Jamaica on a cruise and really enjoyed ourselves. We do side trips arranged through a-z planners. I don't think I would venture out on my own.

like otter, we were going to go back to SDR.. ..it was AWESOME. but we did Whitehouse because i've been waiting on that place to open forever and it was 50% off. my advice would be to go to whitehouse now while it's CHEAP and go wherever else later because Whitehouse will never be this cheap again
