Duty free alcohol

On Carnival Victory we were able to buy alcohol duty free and bring it back to our room. We are going to be on voyager of the seas does anyone know if it is the same on RCCL?

RCCL is a great cruise line. I would say better than Carnival! However, when you buy the alcohol duty free, you have to pay $10.00 to open it on the ship. Some alcohols are still a good deal, but it is still a Hindrance.. .. . Enjoy your cruise!!!

Liquor

Just back from 7 night Rhapsody cruise. We bought a litre of Crown onboard and paid the $9 consumption fee. It came out to $27 which is a heck of a lot cheaper than home. At Costa Maya, I bought a bottle of vodka. I ran the sack throught the scanner when I re-boarded and fully expected to be hassled. No one said a thing about the $10 liter of ABSOLUT. We also checked a large cooler full of bottled water and Pepsi along with our luggage. Nothing was said of it. I think as long as you're not too conspicuous about what you carry on, they pretty much ignore it. We saved a fortune on drinks, though we usually fell for the "drink of the day."
