My 1st cruise.. ..Carnival Inspiration sailing 12/6/04

I'm really excited! I've been reading all these reviews, good and bad. Must one wear rubber-soled shoes on deck? (Anyone know where I can purchase rubber-soled high heels?) Where are we allowed to smoke? My sis and I love to dance. Any Karaoke? Must I get up super early to get chairs on deck to sunbathe? I know about the power strip for extra outlets. Sunscreen a must. Can we bring on our own bottled water? I'm concerned about our drink bill at the end of the week, with this 15% auto-added. How do I find out about Horseback riding in Cozumel? What's this virus, I've heard about onboard? Can you sit with anyone at dinner? Say, today we want to eat early, but tomorrow later, is this possible? If I requested an oceanview stateroom, and I know my deck, can I find out where on the level is our room located yet? Who should I ask? Are the winds really bad in Dec? Is there anything else I'm forgetting??? LOL. Please advise.. .. .

Hey JOJO! You should be really excited for your cruise. I read a lot of bad reviews before I left on my cruise (Fantasy from Pt Canavral to Bahamas). . However, everything was fantastic. The food, the crew, the ports, the other passengers.. ..everything was fantastic! For the main dining hall you have assigned seats and designated time. If you wanted to change that you'd have to make arrangements with the Matre'D (I believe). . As far as the buffets go you can sit anywhere. You can basically wear whatever you want except to dinner. They leave you news letters each night with the following days activities and in the dinner section it tells you what dress is required for the main dinner. I would suggest flip flops for the sun deck. I only wore heels to dinner and when we went dancing at night. As far as the drinks go they are expensive. The daily specials are around $4 and happy hour gets $1 off. However the drinks range from $5-$10 each. I spend around $250 and I was on a 5 day cruise. I also purchased a bottle of wine normal size and it was $20! I managed to get a bottle on board. I just put it in my suitcase and wrapped it up and brought my own cork screw. Also, there are plenty of chairs on the sundeck. We never had to fight for a spot to lay out. Hope all of this helps. If you have any other questions just drop me an email (meliss19am@aol.com). .
Bon Voyage!!!
