Booking tours/excursions.. .. .. .

I was wondering if most of you booked your tours through sandals when you arrived at the property, or did you use a third party? experiences? Who did you go through for the tours? My wife and I are going to whitehouse and would like to to the Appleton Estate tour and Black river tour etc.. .. .

Thanks in advance for the info.. .. .

I usually find things on my own. Since we also do alot of cruises, I find infomation on this board and cruise critic from recommendations. In Jamaica, go to A-Z planners and talk to Belinda. if you are in the Ocho Rios area, ask for Oscar as he is the greatest. I have refered him to others on this board and-from what I have been reading-everybody has had a wonderful experience with him. When we were at SDR, we had him pick us up and take us to Port Antonio. We did a bamboo raft on the Rio Grande River and went to the Blue Lagoon (the same one that Brook Shield's movie was filmed). . It was a full day trip and lots of fun seeing that part of the island. The next day, he picked us up for a half-day trip to Dunns River Falls and a tour of Ocho Rios, with a stop at Margaritaville. It costs us $35 per person (there were 4 of us). . Sandals charges $25 just to go to the falls and back. Are you going back to Jamaica?

My fiance and I took the advice of many people in this forum and booked a tour through A-Z Jamaica Planners. We requested Oscar to be our guide. We're going on the Ocho Rios Highlights tour. It costs $38 a person and we'll be taken to Dunn's Falls, Fern Gully, Wassi Art Pottery Factory, Shaw Park, shopping, and Margaritaville. We'll be at SDR July 19-26. From everything we read it should be awesome. We can't wait!

You will have a blast Oscar is the best, he will probably take you to the Ruins for lunch. The owner is interesting he has houses in FL and Canada also. Be sure to enjoy Ready Freddie in Fern Gulley!!! We went on the tour a couple of weeks ago. Tell Oscar hello from Eric and Jackie from FL. Also ask Belinda to schedule you on a day that there isn't a cruise ship in port at O. R. that way you get the Falls to yourself more or less. If you go when there are Ships in you will be one of up to 3 thousand climbing the falls. Enjoy!! :)

It seems like there are ships in port everyday. We got to the falls about 2 in the afternoon and it was not crowded. We had climbed the falls 6 months earlier when we were in Jamaica on a cruise ship (ship came into Montego Bay and we took the long drive to the falls). . It was so crowded! There were 8 of us and we asked for our own guide. We did not have to go through the long line up the falls and he took us a more challenging but fun way! We really enjoyed going back with Oscar when it wasn't crowded. Ask for Norman for your guide as he is the best. He reminded us of Bubba from Forest Gump.
