Cosmos Tour 5900 St. Pauls to St. Peters

Cosmos Tour 5900 St. Pauls to St. Peters

My wife and I just returned from this trip and had a great time. The hotels were just fine and the tour host and driver were great. I wish that two of the hotels had been located closer to the attractions, but that's what you can expect from an economy tour. The bus was immaculate and our fellow travellers from 4 countries were fun. There were only 27 on the tour, which was nice. A fully-loaded bus would be less desirable.

I just got back from this tour and all in all it was well worth the money. We took several of the optional tours and was satistifed with most..but not all.
My word of advice is to skip the Swiss folklore evening..unless you absolutely LOVE yodeling. They packed us into the restaurant elbow to elbow.. . the food was skimpy and not that good. It was not worth $67. If you do the optional Mt Titlis check the forecast because it's a waste of money if you can't see the view due to fog.
The Tuscan Dinner was a lot of fun and very good.. .. ..Go for Venice at night..it's much nicer than daytime but be sure to take a gondola ride after your daytime tour.. ..also take the boat trip to Burano..well worth the $28.
I was dissapointed with the stop in Florence as we were led to a very exspensive leather store..fine if you are into that sort of thing.. ..but we took off and wandered the city on our own until time to board the bus.
In Rome Take the Vatican and Sistine chapel tour as the line will not be as long but expect a big crowd inside.. ..no cameras in the chapel but most places allow cameras with no flash so use high speed film or good digital.
Sorry to be jumping around but remembering some details. The tour does NOT include a trip up in the Effiel tower..we did this on our own our first night there..very pretty all lit up. We managed about on the subway system but watch out for muggers. One of our fellow tour buddies was attacked..the scuffle ended with no one physcially hurt and no money taken.. ..money belts or a secret pocket inside the pants are a good idea. Also a visit into the Louvre is not included on the tour so we did that instead of the optional excursion to Versailles but that is up to your personal taste.
In London we took the Taste of London excursion but other than that we rode the double decker buses and explored the city on our own.

My advice. Upon arrival in London, find the city double-decker tour bus stop closest to your hotel and get on. Debark at the sights you wish to explore further then get back on. We took the Tower of London tour through Cosmos. It was nice, but overpriced. You can see the Tower on your own and save big. Do not miss the British Museum. Every room is filled with antiquities that will take your breath away. I now feel no need to visit Egypt or Greece. In Paris, jump on the subway both nights and explore. It's easy once you get the hang of it and you can see whatever you desire. Take the Sistine Chapel tour in Rome, then explore on your own. We walked to the Pantheon, etc. from St. Peter's Square. The first night in Rome, we shared a cab to the Spanish Steps, then walked to many of the ancient sites and had dinner on the square. Get out on your own or with another couple. You'll enjoy the adventure.
