We just got back from the 10 day tour of Mykonos, Santorini and Athens.

First, let me assure you, Greece is beautiful, fun and friendly. However, let me also assure you that you do not, under any circumstances, want to go there through Gate1 travel.

We were ripped off big time. We did not meet one single person who was impressed or even moderatley happy with them. Believe me, that is saying a lot.

They do not help you AT ALL with your luggage. You will cart it everywhere. At one point our group of people had to wheel our suitcases down a dirt road for a 1/2 mile or so.

The hotels we were supposed to get, were all overbooked and we did not stay there. So many people got disgusting hotels that the Gate1 Tour person who supposedly helps you settle in, quit.

The side excursions they offer are a ripoff and a joke. If you want any details about this company email me and I will be happy to inform you, otherwise this email posting would be too long.. .. .. .

I am really surprised by what you write. My husband and I adored our trip to Greece through Gate 1. Everyone was very polite and efficient. The hotels were in great locations. I am not usually a 'group tour' person, but I even thought the tours and side trips were good. In fact, we loved it (and Greece) so much that we have traveled three more times with Gate 1 (Israel, Spain and Japan). . All of the tours were very good -- and I think Greece and Israel were the best.

I can't speak about Gate 1 but we used Homeric Torus to Greece and Spain a few years back and we thought it was the perfect trip. The staff went way out of their way to accommdoate us.
