Hi! The Cosmos tour Escape to Alaska looks interesting.. . Is this better than a cruise? Has anyone been on this tour?

Thanks,
Amy

Amy,
I am also looking at taking this tour in 2005. I have already been on 2 cruises to Alaska. The second one included an independent land tour before the cruise. The cruise was a southbound from Seward to Vancouver. Personally I do not think the land tour is better than the cruise and if I do take this tour I will once again take a southbound cruise. There is still a lot that I haven't seen or done on the cruise shore excursions. What is seen on land tours is greatly different than what is seen on cruises.

I am a former Alaskan Guide for Globus/Cosmos and I can assure you that those who do not include a land trip with their cruise, miss out on some of the best parts of Alaska. All of the land guides are real Alaskans and can talk the talk and walk the walk. You will have the best trip of your life! Make sure you get out to see the calving glaciers and go as deep into Denali National Park as you can. The flights over Denali and the Chugach mountain Ranges are awesome and are worth the investment

I'm going on a northbound Carnival cruise and then a 12 day Cosmos tour. Some of the places they go to are the same, but I figure I can take different excursions and still see new places in each city. I was lucky that the day the cruise ended, the tour began in the same city. Lin
