Russia and Scandanavia

Hi all,
I am thinking of doing a tour around Russia and Scandanvia, would be really interested to hear from anyone who's done this either on contiki or topdeck (or any other tour), your thoughts, comments and advise is most welcome.
Many Thanks
Sam

Yeah, I too wish there were some travelogues or some good info about this trip.. .. . There doesn't seem to be too many of them. But from reading the contiki descriptions the tour looks fantastic!

Ditto! There has to be someone out there that has done this kind of trip and can help us out! There are a few posts on the Contiki website about their Russia/Scandi trips.. ..unfortunately, most of them aren't the best!

Scandi and Russia

Postby cdm115 » Sat Oct 28, 2006 2:48 pm

I did the scandi and russia tour in May-June. I have a travelogue at www.giraffegirl.net/scandi_and_russia.htm. . I thought it was a good tour but very different from the european circuit.

In Scandi it is a cross between a concept tour and a camping tour - you stay in cabins and have a supercook. You have to help with cooking, cleaning, packing the bus. The food was pretty good though and the campsites were amazing (or the locations were). . There weren't any other tours to run into in either Scandi or Russia, so it's just you and your staff. My staff in Scandi was average, but they were great in Russia.

But Scandi was gorgeous and Russia incredibly full of history and the most cultural place I have seen with contiki.
