Have already booked and paid for a cruise on Grand Circle for this coming July 2004 and received a letter this week saying they are charging a surcharge of 3%. . I'm suddenly not looking forward to this trip at all. In good money exchange years (1985 for example) did Grand Circle ever refund money to the passengers because the value of the dollar was higher than the country being visited? Or is the Chair, Alan E. Lewis, taking a reduced salary and bonus this year to help out the front line employees? I doubt it.

You’re absolutely right! Grand Circle did not account for this in their product pricing. Their current policy regarding the surcharge does not require the customer to absorb this cost. If the customer ultimately rejects the surcharge the company will not require payment. They give you the impression that this is a requirement until you tell them to f*!@ off.
