I am interested in finding out if you are able to tour the inside of Cardiff Castle and the Roman Baths on this tour. When I called Cosmos' the agent told me that there may only be time for a drive by on the bus and that she did not have access to the optional tours.

which tour exactly is it? We took the Grand tour 3 weeks in all the UK on cosmos last summer

I just got back from Cosmos tour 9000, which is the 15 day tour of England, Wales, and Scotland. We unfortuately did not see Ireland (except by plane), but we had about 2 hours at every location

. . We did visit Bath, and had ample time to visit the Georgian architecture of the Cathedral, and the excavated Roman Baths. We stayed about 15 min outside of downtown Cardiff, and only viewed the Castle from the outside. Our guide offered us the most unique experience while in Wales, a night a Kemey's, which was an optional evening out. This evening was well worth the extra money, and in my opinion was much more exciting than what we saw of Cardiff castle

. . We did arrive in each location at about 5 pm, so sometimes the locations that we wanted to visit were closed. I myself had booked several optional excursions via the internet, and had to cancel all but 2 of them due the the strict schedule we followed daily. If you need any other advise feel free to post again. :shock:
