I NEED CRUISE HELP AND INFORMATION

Postby PAM » Thu Apr 08, 2004 9:12 am

I NEED SOME INFORMATION ON A CRUISE FROM SOMEONE THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN ON ONE. JUST TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR CRUISE. WILL THIS BE THE BEST FUN I WILL EVER HAVE? I HAVE HAD PEOPLE TELL THAT TO ME. I WOULD JUST LIKE YOUR INPUT ON IT. I AM GOING ON A CRUISE IN SEPT LEAVING OUT OF GALVESTON. CARNIVAL IS THE CRUISE LINE. ANY INFO YOU COULD GIVE ME ABOUT THE CRUISE. LIKE DID YOU GET SICK ARE DID YOU SEE ANYONE GET SICK. HOW ABOUT CACUN AND PLAYER- DEL CARMEN WAS IT FUN. MOST OF ALL I WOULD JUST LIKE TO HEAR WHAT THE GOOD AND THE BAD OF A CRUISE IS, AND IS IT WORTH IT. :D [/b]

The first cruise I went on (Carnival Paradise out of Miami) we ran into a tropical system and a lot of people were sick (50 knot winds), but fortunately my husband and I were fine (as were the other 2 couples that sat at our table). . They had barf bags for those who were sick and most of them stayed in their cabins. The 2nd and 3rd cruises (Carnival Celebration and Jubilee) we went to Cozumel and Playa del Carmen from Galveston and I only know of 1 person who was seasick, and she took some meclizine (over-the-counter med) and was fine. We have just booked our 4th cruise today going on the Celebration (for the 2nd time), and are taking Lysol with us and alcohol-based hand sanitizer (because I think if I got sick on a cruise, I'd probably never take another), just to be safe. I've been reading a lot on the subject of norovirus and just plan not to shake anyone's hand and wash my hands almost obsessively. Hope you have fun! We have enjoyed every one (especially the ones with the better weather, but the others, too). . Enjoy yourself!

hey! cruises are definitely, in my opinion, the best type of vacation you can have. the party never ends! and especially if you love food, cruising is for you. cruise ships are so big and have such great technology in stabilizers nowadays that it is very unlikely that you will get seasick. in fact, you hardly notice you are moving half of the time. i've never gotten sick on a cruise, and never known anyone who has. if you are really worried, here's a hint - get a cabin as low as possible and as central as possible. the lower you are, and the closer you are to midship, the less likely you are to get sick. if you experience rough seas, which is not all that likely, its best to get as low as possible. also, it doesn't hurt to take some over the counter patches with you just in case. any other questions? i'd be happy to answer them if i can. have fun!

I think the most important thing on a cruise is what "you" want to do. Go do and live every minute of that adventure. I get a kick out of some of these reviews that say this was no good that was no good, it was boring. No! Those cruisers just gave a personal resume. They are boring. My advice is stay clear of those fellow cruisers. They couldn't have fun in a perfect world.

If you like calm seas: Go in the spring: Southern or Eastern

If you want less kids: Don't go during school vacation

If you are single: Try a single cruise.

It's what you make it. Have fun :))

Will I have fun?

Postby Debs6475 » Thu Apr 22, 2004 9:28 pm

Hi, to answer your question as to if you will have fun.. .. ..all I can say is yes. I had so much fun on my cruise last year, I have booked one every yesr for the next few years. My next cruise is in June on the Paradise and I can't wait. I mark the days off the calendar each day, waiting for the day I sale. I never want to take any other sort of Vacation ever again. Fun.. .. ..yes you will have fun. The time of your life. Remember it is all that you make it,

cruises are awesome

for years i always thought cruises were stupid. why go on a big boat? Toward the end of 2002 my brother and his friends ainvited me to join them on a cruise to the caribbean. Wanting to escape the winter, I figured why not?

We sailed aboard Royal Caribbean's Voyager of The Seas> What a blast! There was always something to do, the party never ended, even when the clubs closed at 3 there were always people about. A few times i stayed up until sunrise. Being 28, I was able to mingle with people younger and older. My friends soon nicknamed me the mayor, as I am outgoing and couldn't go 2 minutes without bumping into someone I had met.

Bottom line-go on a cruisse! i am going on my second one in 3 weeks, on the Carnival Legend. You will have a blast, and there is something for everyone of all ages!
