EGYPT

I am planning on going to Egypt in October with Trafalgar - Moderate
pricing tour - has anyone stay at the Sofitel Sphinx which is where I
would be staying in Cairo? Other than pricing - is there any difference
in the accomodations.

My husband & I took the Trafalgar Egypt tour in March 2004 and are sorry we didn't do it earlier. We had doubts about security, etc. but found they were groundless. We felt VERY safe everywhere. We also stayed at the Sofitel Sphinx and were more than happy with it. The side trip to Abu Simbel is a must. All in all it was a trip of a lifetime, and we have traveled at lot!

Best of Egypt - Sept 2004

I am so pleased that I have stumbled across the BB. I have been looking at the Traflagar BB but have found very few people who have travelled on the Best of Egypt tour. I am booked to tour on 22nd September. (less than 7 weeks now!) and am so excited. I will be travelling on my own and also staying at the Sofitel Sphinx. Everything sounds wonderful. Could you tell me, MrsKB, if the hotel has an ATM or if there is one nearby. I had intended not to bring traveller's cheques but to rely on ATMs. What was your experience with this? I hope you don't mind if I have a milllion more questions for you. 8)

Hi Ripley,

Found your posting while I was trying to find out about Trafalgar's Best of Egypt Tour - I would guess that you might be home again now? If so, can you please tell me what you thought - of Trafalgar Tours, the tour itself, anything good/bad/indifferent or what you would do differently? My husband and I are booking to go on either this tour or the Insight one next March but we're not sure which way to go. Any advice from you would be much appreciated, like you, I've got a million questions!!. . btw - hope you had a great time!

Thanks,

Maggie

Egypt Follow-Ups?

Postby gsutiger2 » Tue Dec 14, 2004 4:19 pm

Hi,

Does anyone have any updates on their Egypt tour? What should be visited or avoided?

Any information regarding the tour company and or experiences would be lovely.

Thanks
gsutiger2
