Question on Ergife Palace

Ergife Palace Hotel

Postby Chris J » Sat May 01, 2004 7:42 am

I haven't stayed at the Hotel but today we booked a holiday which included this hotel. Out of curiousity I tried to get some information about the hotel on the internet and found a site called tripadvisor. The reviews on the site were not at all compimentary. The reports claimed the service was pour, the rooms were not very good and the hotel was not close to the city centre. I will be speaking to my travel agent on Monday to discuss alternatives.

Of course the reviews could be incorrect but what else can we go on.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Just come back from Ergife Palace, where we stayed for 5 days, and one after the tour.

The first time we were there..the rooms were on the right of the desk, and were not good. Smelly plumbing, taps dripping.. ..need of redecorating.
The second time, we were on the left of the desk..and the rooms had been refurbished, and were much better.

They were very good to me, when i was sick with a virus. The restaurant staff were excellent. Antonini particularly.
The facilities are ok, there is internet..and an expensive gift shop.. .(the girl is particularly morose there!)

They are a long way from the centre of Rome.. . the hotel restaurant is good. The street outside(Via Aurelia) is extrememly busy, but some people on our tour walked. it is about half an hour by taxi from Centre.

Good luck,
Judy

I stayed there for a week, and enjoyed the hotel. If you are used to American Standards of Hotels, you may be disappointed. However, for a European (more importantly Roman) hotel, it is fairly nice.

I stayed in Rome past check out and they allowed me to leave my luggage in "one of the rooms to the right of the desk" They gave me a key, and it was very obvious that the rooms were in the process of being renovated.

I found the service friendly and the attmosphere inviting. As far as transportation. You are a 5 min. walk from a local Catholic Church, and about a 8 min. walk from the Underground system. There are buses which you may also catch inbetween, but you will still have to walk a min or two up the street from the hotel. The underground in Rome is not quite as great as London, but more like Paris (except much cleaner)
