Globus vs. Trafalgar vs. Cosmos ITALY Tours

Globus vs. Trafalgar vs. Cosmos ITALY Tours

Postby yokolt » Tue Jan 20, 2004 6:30 pm

Hi,
Just wanted to get opinions with regards to the following three tour companies to Italy - Cosmos vs. Globus vs. Trafalgar. I'm planning my honeymoon and have never been to Italy. However, my fiance has been to Italy before, so he is letting me select the tour! I've narrowed it down to an 8-10 day tour from one of the above-mentioned companies. I know a lot has to do with travel preferences but I just wanted to get some opinions!

Thanks! Yoko

Cosmos is the cheaper version of Globus.. .. ..I've taken both and you get a lot for your time and money.

Italy and Globus are similar in quality, check your itinerary carefully and what is included in your tour.

HI yoko,
From my past experiences Globus offers the best of all 3. Be sure to do all optionals has they had up so much to your knowing the country. Italy is just great but I also had a great honeymoon in Portugal and Spain. Think about it.. .
Have a great time.

I took Cosmos trip to Italy-hotels were terrible and tour guide rude. I do not recommend :(

Go with Insight or Globus we went with Trafalgar Best of Italy 08/10/04 to 23/10/04. Trafalgars hotels were in the main isolated and not first class. Check out optionals on both companies before you book. the tour directors on Trafalger seem to be able to change, alter, and merge optionals in their favour not yours. From talking to people on similar tours with Globus they seemed to have a better standard of tour, same with Insight.

tour choices

I'd look at what the itineraries are. I think that is as important as the tour company.

We are happiest when we have 3 days in a city, not two. This means you see fewer cities, but see them better. Particularly if your fiancee has been in Italy before, you will want time on your own to explore.

We goofed our last tour and had a lot of places with only two day stops, and really felt that the pace was faster than we liked.

That's my two cents worth.
