Has anyone been on that tour? I'd like to hear some opinions on the travel/hotel arrangements?

My wife and I went on the Jewels of Poland tour and really really liked it.. .. . was much easier and more fun than we had expected. The weather can be hit or miss there but we were lucky and and had no rain and warm temps the whole 9 days (we went in early September). .

Each city we visited included a really skilled local guide who took us both walking and riding around the city. There was free time most evenings to enjoy a pivo or some lodi in each town. We saw Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw, and Krakow.

Hotel accommodations were clean and reasonable, although not fancy.

Thanks for the info on the tour. My sister in law and I are of Polish descent and are greatly looking forward to our tour in June 2006. Can you recommend any great shopping places? What is good for soveneirs?

My mother and I (we are of Polish descent) took this tour in May 2003 and really enjoyed it. Seeing that it was a budget tour, I was a bit concerned that it might truly be budget in terms of quality, but it wasn't. We had a great tour director (Marietta), a very good driver (Roman) and very knowledgeable local guides. The hotels were clean and safe and in a couple of cases quite fancy given the tour cost. The provided meals were suprisingly good. We're planning a trip to Italy for this spring and I hope that we have a similar experience with Cosmos in Italy.
