Asian Tours

Postby Peg » Mon Jan 19, 2004 9:34 am

I am looking for recommendations on tour companies for Asia. I would like to visit China( Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an and Guilin) Hong Kong, Bankok and Sinapore. Pacific Delight Tours offers one that includes every place except Shanghai. Has anyone had experience with Pacific Delight Asian tours. Any recommendations about time of year. I am thinking of April, May or June. Thank you.[/b]

china tour recomendation

I suggest anyone wishing to go to China use the internet and check out China Focus a company based in San Francisco. I and several friends have all been on one of their 3 week trips and found it economical, nice, enjoyable (even with 44 people), comprehensive, etc. The hotels were moderate range, and food acceptable but all worth the inexpensive costs for a 3 week trip. National guide was good and efficient, and local guides very knowledgeable. Lots of things to see, do and you do it all! :)

China Touring

We went to China for 21 days 3 years ago with Pacific Delight Tours. They were top quality, we saw more than any other group we ran into. Our hotels were top quality, the food was outstanding, tours were all inclusive, our own tour guide stayed with us all the time, in addition to local guides at each location we visited, and it was an amazing tour! We spent 10 days on the Yangzee River, stopping each day where we toured each area. We went 1500 miles on the river, starting in Shanghai, then flew to Xian, and then to Beijing. We did all the touristy stuff, including the Imperial City and the Great Wall, but we visited local housing, and the old areas of the cities, gardens, temples, mountains, factories, schools, opera, acrobats, museaums, and they had the cheapest price, by FAR. Do it all, it is amazing!

Asia

I can recomend Asia Transpacific Tours and Asian Pacicic Adventures. They are both reputable, hotels are very good and they go to very unique places. The independent travel with the first is especially recomended. We went with Uniworld to China and had a great time in a large tour, very good hotels although their service is spotty. Not highly recomended because of this.

For a good all around company specializing in river cruises including the Yangtze take a look at Value World Tours. Affordable sells their programs with a discount. Their site is : www.rivercruises.net. . Good programs excellent comments - see memories pages. S

My wife and I have taken 3 trips twith Pacific Delight Tours. Our experience with them has been first class. Never a problem. Great hotels. excellent tour guides plus great people on our tour. I can't think of one negative about the company. Prices are competative and they always answer your questions in a timely manner.
