Gate 1 to Turkey

Gate 1 to Turkey

Postby zrealtopcat » Mon Sep 08, 2008 12:32 pm

We are trying Gate 1 for the first time in March. We have booked to Turkey.

Anyone have any experience with Gate 1 to Turkey?

We have used Globus and two other travel companies and have been satisfied with them.

You should have stuck with Globus. There are quite a few negative comments about Gate 1 on the internet.

I have recently met ppl who have done the gate 1 turkey and have said it was an excellent trip, also all you hear about gate 1 is not true, they are an excellent and reputable company with excellent guides.

Gate 1 Turkey

No I don't work for Gate 1 but I just returned from their Egypt and the Red Sea trip, 15 days, and have really no complaints. I did not see any difference in them and Globus who I usually use. Except the people were actually more fun, go figure. I think when traveling to third world countries, go for the price because everyone stays in the same places and does the same things. Our guide was a mastered prepared Egyptologist, who was excellent.
It's time to break away from Globus and Trafalgar and see how the other side lives!

I have traveled with Globus 6 times but do not have a problem trying another company if they have good reviews. I have been considering a rivercruise with Grand Circle. My brother is in China right now with Grand Circle and I am looking forward to his reviews when he returns. I have had a couple of very positive brief emails from him over the last couple of weeks and it sounds like he is having a great time.

Viking River Cruises is now offering some good prices to China. Two for one river cruises and international air from the east coast for $898.

Max that is a great deal! We are stuck stateside this year but in 2010 it is back overseas!I figure I might just as well spend it as watch the $$$ just dwindle away!! I sure wish I had spent the $$$ I've lost on traveling around the world.

Cheer up, Letsgo. We are starting to see some of those $$$ coming back in the stock market. Look at the 14 day Caribbean cruise on the Maasdam for April 30, 2010 and see if you can get a cabin for about $1000 per person.

Hi Max

Thanks,I'll check it out.
We have been looking at a France Rivercruise,Paris to Nice. I do like the rivercruising as I love docking in the middle of the little towns and walking back and forth off the ship when the mood strikes us. DH has never been to Paris and I love it so I really want him to see it.The easiest way is on a rivercruise because you get to take your hotel with you.We cruised with Avalon before and loved it but I am open to the company that gives me the best deal.DH is still working so it is hard to do the last minute specials. There are some great airfare prices out there now. I saw a RT to Paris a couple of weeks ago for $475.00.I wish I could have taken advantage of it.
I hope you have a great summer. Happy travels.
