Has anyone used any of the Pacsafe Products? I am looking at the Metrosafe 200 to use on a European Tour. Thanks for your help. :?:

Just buy plastic bags!!!

I have not used that particular product but I have read good things about them on tripadvisor and Fodors.People seem to like them.

I just buy the quart,1 gallon and 2 gallon size zip lock bags and use these the same way by squeezing all the air out. I hate for security to touch my things  and this way they can just look at the bags and not touch my personal stuff.Pack each bag full and it keeps things from getting to wrinkled. I have heard of people packing bags by daily outfits but I am not that organized.

Using the bags makes it easier to find things and pack and unpack when you are living out of a suitcase for a few weeks. It is of course up to you how you want to get organized!!!

Pacsafe is a line of security luggage covers, backpacks and handbags which are slashproof. I don't think the packing aids you are referring to are made by that company, but it is a good idea to cover your items with plastic see-through bags.

Opps, sorry! I think I was talking about those packing cubes. Now that you mention it though I think I have heard people on tripadvisor talk about the Metrosafe 200 and that they liked it.I have the Eaglecreek sidekick bag that I have used for the last 5 years in Europe and I like it a lot.

Do not over estimate the danger in Europe. I have been there 5 times, visited 13 countries and never had any problem.I have traveled with tours and on my own. If you just take normal precautions like you would in any large city you will be fine.Carry your passport, credit card ATM card and other valuables in a waist pask or neck pouch under your clothes and you will be good. There is no where near the violent crime in Europe that we have in the USA.Even if I had the Metrosafe bag I would still carry my valuables under my clothes though.I would far rather walk around London at night, and I have, rather then Chicago!!! My friend and I,both in our 60's have taken subways in London and Paris without any problem. Dh and I have walked all over London,Budapest,Vienna late at night and taken public transportation. Never have we felt threatened at all.

Its not the violent crime in Europe that is the problem. It is the pickpockets that are in numerous tourist sites. E G Sistine Chapel, Tower of Piza, and Metros in various cities to name a few.

Yes the pick pockets are a problem just as they are in any US city.At least you won't have to worry about being heldup by gunpoint! Just be aware of what is going on around you and use a under your clothes security pack.
