We haven't traveled with Cosmos but we have been to Italy with Globus. Italy is outstanding and you are going at the right time of the year.

Still deciding

Postby njtraveler » Tue Aug 26, 2008 8:43 pm

Hi Peppermint Patty,

I have booked this trip for the same dates but still deciding if I should go. I live in New Jersey, I am going alone and in my mid 20's and was concerned if anyone would be in my age group. If you don't mind what age group are you and your friends in?

Thank you

njtraveler,
Of course you should go. Don't miss such a wonderful opportunity!I have traveled with Globus many times and all ages are on these tours and everyone associates with everyone else no matter their age. On the tours I have been on the ages were from 10 years old to 75 years old!!

Most of the people traveling in October will be retirees.

I don't believe so. It maybe true that there will be less school age childen but a lot of people (singles/childess couples) can travel in Oct, too. Also, some school districts in US has "year round" system and some kids are off in Oct.

Screenname is correct. Many people, not just old people, travel in October to avoid the heat and crowds. It is a perfect time to travel to Europe.

We were on a Globus tour of Italy in October, 2005. We were on a Globus tour of Hawaii in October, 2006. We were on 2 Insight tours of Eastern Europe in 2007. Most of our tour companions on all 4 tours were retirees. There were maybe a dozen travelers under the age of 65 and no children whatsoever.

maximagxe, can it be the tours you select are targeted for the over 60's? For example, most people from US/Canada would not take an escorted tour to Hawaii.

There were quite a few retireds on our Hawaii tour from Canada and the US. Our tour director was Randy Schuster. The tour was not targeted to retired people even though they are the most likely group to have the time and money to travel.

They don't need to advertise the tour to sr. citizens. Just by the way they structure the itinerary will drive older/younger people to/away from a particular tour.

Well I certainly would not book a Contiki tour.
