LEISURELY TOUR OF TURKEY

I just returned from this COSMOS trip 2 weeks ago. The trip was FANTASTIC. The guide, Aran, was knowledgeable about his country. He was funny and entertaining and made a point of socializing with the group. The sites chosen for this trip gave an overview that I certainly did not expect. Goreme and Cappadocia were amazing. The bus driver Baki, kept us, as well as our bags safe. I always felt like he had control of the driving.
I would recommend either going a few days early or staying a few days later in Istanbul. I did just that and explored a bit on my own. As a single woman I never felt unsafe or harrased. :D
This was trip of a lifetime and one I'll surely remember. I don't travel alot.. ..but this was one of the best experiences. :D
I saw your post. Istanbul in May should be lovely. I went in Dec, cold, but still lovely.
If you only have a few days, I recommend the BIG SITES: Suleyamenat Square to see the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque; The Roman Cistern is in the same area; if your brave there is the Turkish Bath Hagiolulu (sorry about the spelling); The Spice Market is a must as well as the other Grand Market; I walked across the Grand Bridge from the Europe to the Asian side of Turkey; Topkapi is always crowded but pretty amazing. It’s a beautiful, amazing city. I was there by myself and never felt threatened.
Good luck:
