Postby c-forever » Fri Nov 23, 2007 12:47 pm

Hey anyone else taking the Britain Sampler next year - July 4 - 13?? We thought it'd be cool to get to know people who are also going to be on this tour beforehand

This is going to be our first tour ever so don't really know what to expect. Has anyone taken this tour in the past? Does anyone know what optionals we can expect??

British Sampler Tour

Postby GLoveseurope » Fri Nov 23, 2007 9:07 pm

Hello, I took this tour this past June, 2007. It was an interesting tour. I especially liked Belvoir Castle at the end. Only took one opt., the others involved dinners, which I wasn't interested in. Otherwise, it was a pretty good experience, if a bit rushed, but tours are sometimes like that. Ps. The hotels were Ok, too. Cheers, Gale S.

We visited the included sites by ourselves in 2001. We first did a day trip from London to Bath and the Cotswalds. Then we did the high speed train from London to York (2 hours) one day. On another day we did the high speed train to Edinburgh from London (4.5 hours.)
Cheers

Chances are slim that you will meet anyone from your tour on here.

Max,
Thanks for the info on the trains Max. That is the way I like to travel and although I have toured England,Ireland,Scotland and Wales with Globus I would love to go back with DH and do it on our own. He has only been to London in that area so he would very much like to see everything else.

C-forever,
Max is right it would be somewhat unlikely that you would meet your tour mates on here before a tour but I do believe a couple of people just did it on another Globus thread so the possibility is there. You will be able to find people who have toured with Globus in the past in the same areas and the optionals and the sights are all the same on every tour. I did the "Highlights of Britian and Ireland" with Globus in 2003 so if you have any questions regarding the tour I will be glad to answer as will others.
