My husband and I did this tour in July 2007 and were delighted with it. We had not previously travelled with Cosmos, but had done 2 Trafalgar Cost Saver Tours (Europe and then Ireland), and a First Class Trafalgar Tour of Russia and Scandanavia. This tour does not have any meals provided and we did find that we did not get to know our tour party quite so well as when (on the other tours) we had breakfast every morning with them, and some meals at night. We all did our own thing. But our tour guide (Al) was excellent and pointed out where to eat every time we stopped. If you wanted you could have breakfast and dinner in the hotel or go somewhere locally - or just have fruit in your room for breakfast. The hotels were all of good quality, but were not of course first class hotels, but we were quite happy. We had plenty of time to see the Canyons, and we felt that we had plenty of stops and sightseeing. We are from NZ, and were the only New Zealanders on board and enjoyed mixing with the very friendly Americans.
