Bordeaux, Winery and Lourdes & Provence

Hi all,
This is our first trip to France, in mid September. I would very appreciate for any comments, experience about this tour.
We don't speak any French. How do you order in a French restaurant? How do you read a menu? Do they have an English menu? Have you gone to the winery and wine tasting at Bordeaux? How are the wine there? Is it worth to bring it back to the US? How is Monaco? And we will also stop by a Perfume factory. Is there anyone had experience about this.
I am so excited about this trip, and also kind of nervous since we don't know the language and I heard that French people don't like to speak English. Last but not least, how do you like those option tours.
Thank you very much

We just got back from our tour, and I just want to make the story short.. .. ..we had a wonderful time in France. Even though, we don't speak any French, but we were able to get by from shopping to oder food in restaurants, etc. Most restaurants post their menu outside, and many of them have English version. Voila. !!
Our tour director, Jean Loup, was wonderful. He made our trip went very smoothly and enjoyable. He directed us to places to eat, best local food, well known desserts, etc . . We took all of the option tours except the Moulin Rouge. They are well worth the money and time. Since we only in France for 10 days, I don't think that we can see as much if we do by ourselves.
The tour was very well organized, and I highly recommend it. I am looking forward to have next tour with Globus.

lotus, it sounds like you had a great trip! This itinerary is one that I am considering.

Did the tour feel rushed or did it seem like there was enough time to enjoy the places you visited?

Did the optionals seem overpriced or not too bad? Could you have done those things on your own? Did many people from your tour group participate in them? What happens if you don't? (are you just left on your own without the tour guide around for a while?)

Any other impressions of this tour or of Globus in general?
