DH and I just returned from a 16 day River Cruise from Budapest To Amsterdam on the new Avalon ship Tranquility. We had a great time. It was really nice to only unpack 1 time and not have those early morning suitcases out days.. . The food,crew,ship everything was just the best.Definitely the best vacation I have ever had. It would be really difficult to go back to coach tours after this cruise. Don't think I will. Avalon is owned by Globus and I chose Avalon for that reason as I have taken several coach tours in the past.It is a little older crowd on the river cruises with just about everyone over 50.There was a couple of families with teenagers but they seemed a bit bored.It is really a great way to tour. We had a different port everyday and a local guide in every port.It is so relaxing to sit on the sun deck and watch the world slip by.Can't wait to do it again.
