I understand that Globus limits you to one suitcase. I would like to purchase a new light weight rolling bag. Any suggestions as to brand or size? What did people buy there and how did you get it home?
Any advice on hairdryers, curling irons, etc.?
Thanks!

Globus does limit you to 1 large suitcase and 1 carryon. The large suitcase, however can be very large. I believe mine is 30"which is the largest they let you take..I also always take a medium sized nylon duffle that I can fold up small and flat in the bottom of my large suitcase and use it on my way home to make room for addtional purchases. I usually throw dirty laundry in it!!! They don't care what you take home as long as they don't have to tote it around.
I buy all my suitcases at TJ MAX. They have great deals.I just bought my DH one there,Pacific Coast brand, expandable 29" that would normally sell for around $200.00 for $69.95. I got him a carryon that matches for $10.00.I like the small duffel type carryons. Your big suitcase can have wheels but the one on the bus cannot. I never use the little bag that Globus sends as it is just tiny and has Globus written all over it..My carryon goes under my feet on the coach. It would not fit overhead as that space is only big enough for jackets and some purchases. We also always use the very back seat on the bus for daily shopping. :D

All the hotels have hairdryers so you won't need to bring your own.If you bring a curling iron it must either have dual voltage or you will need a converter. I have one I bought from Travelsmith that the voltage can be changed on. You will also need adapter plugs. Just go to Wal Mart and buy a variety of them for about $6.00. I also like to take the inflatable neck pillows for use on the overnight flights and on the coach.
I am not a big shopper but I did buy a music box in Germany and some crystal jewelry and a mask in Venice.. . I would not buy anything that I could not carry home. Some others have had some bad experiences trying to ship things home.
Be sure to get an under your clothes neck pack or waist pack to carry your passport, tickts,ATM card, credit cards etc. Only carry enough cash in your pocket for 1 day. There are ATM's everywhere and that is the best way to get money. I use the ATM for cash for daily purchases and the credit card for major purchases.
You are going to have a great time. Globus is a wonderful company. Don't stress, let them handle everything. They are good at it!!

Letsgo, if you don't use the Globus bag, what do you suggest as a carry on?? I thought they limit that size as well. :? Any brand name or size suggestions would be welcomed!! Thanks Phee for asking; I have been wondering this too! :)

I use a 16" tote.(Carryon)At least that is what it is called. It's about the same size as a big purse, holds alot, zips closed and is the same material as my luggage. As stated above the brand is Pacific Coast on one and Delsey on the other and I bought both of them at TJ Max where I buy all my luggage. It is squishy so I can push it under the seat in front of me or rest my feet on it. I usually rest my feet on it. I have never seen a TD with a tape measure yet!! As long as your carryon has NO wheels and is a reasonable, close to their bag in size nobody is going to care. Not to worry at all.

Thanks Letsgo for the information. I also bought the Delsey luggage because it seems really light weight on it's own. I bought the 30" for me and my daughter, got mine at SYMS, that is also somewhere with a great price!! I have to go back and look for a tote.
Can't wait for the trip :D
