Questions for visiting Europe

Questions for visiting Europe

Postby sactorocker » Mon Apr 02, 2007 8:29 am

I am an amature digital photographer and would like to take my dslr with and take some pictures, but I am worried about transporting it and safety. What have been people's experiences with cameras and how to secure them.

I have also heard that the water in Europe can be an issue for some people. Has anyone had this problem? I thought of buying a water filter for my nalgene bottles. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

I have never heard of OR had any problem drinking the water from the faucets in the hotels in Europe. It is perfectly safe.On the last few trips I have taken to Europe I have filled my water bottles from the faucet to carry with me all day. I have also many times drank from drinking fountains in parks, muesums etc. I don't know where you are going but the water in western Europe is totally safe.
I have no knowledge regarding eastern Europe or the Middle east.I will be traveling to Eastern Europe this summer so I will find out then about the water in that area.

In Mexico the water is NOT safe to drink.Got pretty sick there one time!

I always put my camera in my carry on after I take it out to check through security. If you hand it to the security people they will hand check it through. Never put anything that valuable in your checked luggage.
