This is my first posting and would appreciate some input on the Globus "Best of Italy" tour. I am thinking about going but heard some disturbing things about Globus in general and particularily about the hotels and food on this tour.

Any input about these questions ( or any other information ) would certainly be appreciated.

I've taken many tours with Globus and really like them. Most large companies use big hotels that are a little out of the center of town. They have 40 to 50 people or so, so they can't use many small ones. The ones I've been at with Globus are usually in good, safe, clean areas, on or very close to local transportation. As far as food goes. It's a personal preference, but the less included meals the better. I've found even with some duluxe tours it's mostly hotel food (like a wedding reception) I prefer to sample local restaurants. So I don't regret not having included meals and not paying for something I won't eat. I think you'll have a great time with Globus.
