No Letsgo. But I would like to work for them. We have been on 2 tours with Insight and they are outstanding. This will be our third and fourth tour with them as a back to back.

Hey Max,

Do you prefer Insight over Globus? How do you compare them?
Please tell me the differences not considering TD's.I think it is always good to have an open mind.

Letsgo, both Insight and Globus are good companies. Insight, of course, limits their coaches to only 40 people. Insight also appears to be a little more upscale and appeals to more professional upper income type clientele.

Why is that? Is it more expensive?

I've been looking at the Monogram tour(thru Globus) to Rome.Florence and Venice. I like the idea of free time and the only traveling you do is by train.Get tired of the coach travel.Have been to Venice but not the remainder of Italy. I just loved Venice.
We are doing a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam next July.I like the idea of taking my hotel with me.I'll let you know how it is.Sounds relaxing. I really HATE those early mornings!!!!

Istanbul sounds really interesting. One of these days!!!!

Come on Max,you sound like a snob.

I have always liked the people I have traveled with on Globus.I feel very blessed that I am able to travel, many poeple have never been away from home at all.

Letsgo, I am shocked that you would call me a snob. Even more so, since you are a monitor on this board.

I assume you are referring to my comments about Insight being more upscale than Globus. That is only my opinion based on two trips with Globus and two trips with Insight. On Insight we met a dentist and wife from Atlanta, a retired GM executive from Detroit with his significant other and a school principal from Calgary Canada. The two Globus tours we were on seemed to have more middle class people who were on their first trip to Europe.

The bottome line was that we enjoyed the people we met on all four tours.

Some people are easily impressed.I guess it depends on where you come from and what is important in your life.I don't think I have ever asked anyone what they did at home.

Letsgo, that is a common question on tours and cruises. "Are you retired or are you still working?" The followup, if still working, would be:

What do you do back in Des Moines?

More questions could be Any children? Boys or girls? Grandchildren? Is this your first escorted tour? What countries have you been to? Where do you want to go next? Is the tour director doing a good job?

The tour was outstanding. We enjoyed Budapest, Berlin and Vienna. Prague was very crowded and you have to watch out for pickpockets. Warsaw and Krakow were ok but not as good as the cities mentioned above. We did not do many optionals as we wanted to do things on our own. Our favorite city was Vienna.
