On my last couple of tours with Globus I have ended up making my own air arrangements after reviewing what they had to offer. There is plenty of time to consider their arrangements and accept or refuse them. I just made my own arrangements for air to Budapest and home from Amsterdam for a river cruise planned for next July. The offer Globus had on the air was not terrible as far as timing went but by booking my own air I ended up saving about $900.00 for two people. The only advantage to taking the tour company air is that you get the transfers. The transfers can be purchased for an additional $20.00 pp from Globus. In our case we are going to Budapest 1 day early and staying over 1 day extra in Amsterdam so we would not have gotten the tranfers anyway. I have found the Globus hotels are very high for extra days and I can do much better on my own. I saved alot of money by making my air arrangements through Orbitz and my hotel reservations using tripadvisor to find just the right hotel and I booked it through the same site. The information regarding tranfers from the airport to the hotels is available on the particular airports website or through the tourism dept for the city you are arrivng or departing from.
Globus is a wonderful company and I am sure you will have a great time. They will handle everything for you. The one thing I have learned is to try to book a tour that has at least 2 days in each location.Otherwise it is just exhausting and you will find yourself wishing you could spend more time in each place. This is just my opinion but I believe there are many who feel the same way.Of course I am no spring chicken.
