I just wanted to post a warning when booking with Perillo. They made a major mistake when I booked my Italy tour with them for this Fall. Perillo's off-season rates were delayed in coming out, so they didn't have a brochure yet. By chance I called when they just received the rates, so I booked my tour at that time. I paid my deposit, then two days later, paid the balance of my trip. I repeatedly asked the agent if I was paid in full, for the entire trip, flight and land tour and she kept saying yes, and to look at my confirmation because it had my flight itinerary.
By chance I checked with the air carrier recently and found out that my flights were cancelled. I immediately called Perillo to find out what happened. They explained it as a computer glitch, and that my flights were cancelled because I didn't pay for the flight. They said I owe an additional amount, when in fact I was told and have e-mail confirmation that said I was paid in full. Perillo's agent acted like it was no big deal, it wasn't her fault for telling me I was paid in full when I wasn't. They aren't willing to do anything for me for their error. It's too late to cancel and get my money back to go with a different tour group because it's within 60 days.
I find their customer service to be horrible in this situation. The point in customer service is to see that your customer is happy with your service and to take care of them. Perillo in this instance failed to do that. It has put a damper on the upcoming trip, not to mention coming up with additional money. I would warn anyone to continually check on your reservation/booking and to keep questioning something that seems off. Perillo said they would've eventually found out about the cancelled flights, probably not until 30 days prior when they mail out the paperwork.
Thanks for listening.. .
