Advice needed on which Sandals (outside of Jamaica) to go to

Postby thursdaynigh » Sun Jul 09, 2006 12:06 am

We are planning our trip for the Labor day holiday and thanksgiving right now, would like to go to sandals for about 4-7nights, and would like to get some advice from the seasoned travelers if possible.

-- My husband and I are in our early 30's
-- We don't really drink (limited to strawberry daiquiri or pinda colada, and we ask them to make it without alcohol or make it very light, that's it). .
-- We'll probably get the least expensive room (I am ok as long as it is a clean room with clean/functional bathroom, comfortable bed and enough AC). .
-- What attract us to sandals is the free diving (we are both certified divers and would like to dive everyday while we are there) and other water activity
-- We enjoy good food (especially French food and Japanese sushi)

So which sandals would be best for us based on the above information (food and diving)?

We've been to Jamaica (Couples Negril), and would like to try a different place (which eliminates half of the choices of Sandals:). . Never been to sandals before, but can't imagine it would not be comparable to Couples.

Thank you in advance for any reply.

I have heard wonderful things about the Sandals in the Bahamas! We stayed at SDR.

I was also going to recommend the Sandals Grand Bahamian because of its great diving.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about this or other Sandals, I am a travel agent and would be happy to assist you.

I'm also a travel agent (Preferred Sandals Specialist) and have been to all the properties.

Royal Bahamian has nice clear water, and you might also look at Sandals Grande St. Lucian. The water there is crystal, and in St. Lucia, they take you to some very nice sites. The island is very romantic, also.

I would give a big thumbs up to the Royal Bahamian as well. When I go to Jamaica, my preferred is the same place you have already been. Couples Negril. I've done SMB once (did not care for it, but mostly for personal reasons, nothing to do with resort really.. .) SDR (love this resort) and SOR. By far though, my favorite Sandals vacation has been to the Royal Bahamian.

My brother just came back from his Honeymoon in Sandals St. Lucia. He liked it, his wife has done nothing but complain about the place since she got back. Go figure, two people, same place.. .. . different vacations apparently.
