I am currently researching a book which will provide a lighthearted insight into the quirky side of staying in youth hostels. To give you an idea, there will be a chapter on dormitory etiquette.

I have my own experiences, and I know others will have theirs too. I would be HUGELY grateful if you could email me with any of your quirky tales. Anything from hygiene horror stories, to naughty goings on in the upstairs bunk, to internet hoggers, to relationships with staff, to general annoyances, etc etc.
