A friend of mine and myself (ages 27,26) will be going on this tour.

We're gonna go to munich a day early, so we'll have all day sunday and mostly monday to do what we like.

I've always wanted to rent a car and drive some of the autobahn.. ..do u have any reccomendations on where to go for that day or even if this seems like a reachable plan?

Is anyone else on this forum going on this tour.. .. .??? We wanted to do contiki, but leaving from Raleigh, didnt allow us any avaible flight options.

I have just done this tour with Cosmos 2 weeks ago. Munich has good public transportation so I would suggest forgoing the rental car. Going a day earlier is a good idea as most places in Munich are closed on Mondays. Happy travels.

Hey K,

Can ask what age group of people were on the tour with you?

Also, how far out were the hotels in Prague, Vienna, and Budapest.

I'm pretty sure the hotel in munich is Really far out.

Thanks again

We have quite a lot of retired people in our group. They are very young at heart and very nice though. There were about 9 of us who were in our 20s.

The hotels are pretty far from the city center but you can use the hotel shuttle then the metro to the center. If you are planning to go a day earlier why not book a hotel in the city center for Sunday and just go to the hotel that Cosmos booked on Monday.

For our trip, all the hotels are all pretty far from city center. We were able to catch public transportation (metro, tram, bus) to go to the city center except for the ones in Salzburg and Prague. Hope this helps.

Hello, my sister and I went on this tour in the fall of 2005. We are 35 and 39. The hotel in Munich is fine, you can walk to the city center.. .. ..the hotel in Prague will cost you three pounds walking. Honestly, I run 3-4 miles a day and dropped alot of pounds on this trip. In spite of the fried cheese piles of sausage and so forth.. ..you will walk your butt off. Thus, weight reduction. However, once you learn public transportation it is not bad. Take the bus into town whenever it goes.. .. ..saves you time and money. We were the youngest on the trip, but it was fine as we went off on our own.. ..Honestly the way to do it. Who really wants to meet more tourists? We went to the baths in Budapest.. ..spoke no hungarian.. ..and it was great. Very local place. As a matter of fact, I never saw the people on the tour other than on the bus. A great trip.. .. .
