Which Costs More? Carnival VS. Royal Caribbean

Postby Cookie26 » Sat Mar 18, 2006 10:57 am

I'm looking into going on a cruise and can't decide between Royal Caribbeans 4 night Bahamma cruise or Carnivals 4 night bahama cruise. Carnival's ticket costs more, but I have heard that there are more things you have to pay for on the Royal Caribbean Ship. Does anyone know anything about that?

THANKS!! :D

I've taken the Carnival's Fantasy twice. Once on a 3-day, the other a 4-day to the Bahamas. It is a beautiful ship. Although it's been about 5 years ago the ship was well staffed with very pleasant help. It had just been remodeled.

Two years ago I took a 7-day cruise on the Spirit (I think, it was a very new ship at the time) and I didn't find the new ship's layout as good as the Fantasy ship. Nor did the auditorium hold enough guests (even with two showings); I don't know why they built it too small. People were coming early to save seats. That was never the case on the Fantasy, you simply arrived at showtime and somewhere there would be seating.

I've never been on Royal Carribean, however I have heard it caters to the more mature traveller and is a step up in price and quality. Hear say.

Of my three cruises with Carnival, I have found all three to be well charmed with a fabulous cruise director. This is really important, they're basically your tour guide while on ship. So I like the spirited, humor they have when you are on the ship -- that means alot to me. I don't want someone coming over the loud speaker with a snobbish, arrogant tone every few moments.

I will sometime go on RCCL, but I'm still pretty young and still like all the glitz and neon of the Carnival Fantasy.
