Postby Angel007 » Fri Jul 15, 2005 9:30 pm

Leaving in October. Will drive through Mexico and Central America and perhaps fly to Peru for Machu Pichu. Have any of you gone yet? We are 3. Two women and a man.

 hey i just came back from central america. we flew from ca. to cancun and went to belize (the country it self wasn't the best but the islands are great especially calle caulker) then we went to guatemala via a shuttle in belize city by the boat depot. its about 20 bucks. from flores we went to antigua again the same tour group san juan. again it was 22 bucks for a over night ride. then from antigua we went to copan (honduras) where there is a cool hostel/bar/rest/movie theater all in one its called los amigos. from there we went to the islands in honduras roatan it was the best 5 buck hostel stay when you learn how to scuba dive. the food is good and cheap. From roatan we went back to mexico via belize. guatemala and then mexico. the lonely planet publication on a shoe string is the best but there is no freaken ferry from honduras to belize.. .. .. .. ..many of us were left stranded thinking there was such a ferry!
budget. well its cheap but expensive at the same time go w/the flow and you can get good deals
