Please tell me how is this ship for teens. I am planning a cruise with my 2 grandchildren (girls) and would like to know if they will enjoy it. :?:

We are booked on the Magica for 3/26 to the Western Caribbean. Will post after our cruise what we thought of the ship. We've cruised on large and small ships, but this is the largest so we're anxious to see how we like it. We will have children ages 10, 7, and 3 with us and are hoping they will have plenty to do.

We just returned, you could count the kids on one hand. They did not have any childrens programs like on Carnival. At 51 years old we were the "kids" on the boat. The only good thing I have to say about the Magica is it's a very clean boat. The crew does not listen or does not understand english. Food requests were ignored or mixed up. The food is terrible and the service slow, all the seafood was over cooked and everything was bland. Several people got sick from the food one night; what we were told was grouper was tile fish which tends to be toxic to some who are sensitive. Stick with a line you know is service oriented like Royal or Carnival or Celebrity. Carnival may be the parent company, but Costa still runs this line. Even the check-in was screwed-up, you had to go thru check-in and get on the boat and stand in line again to give them a credit card. We have take more than 10 trips on other ships on the east and west coast of the US and in Europe and this was the worst experience yet.

Costa Magica

Just returned from Costa Magica cruise. Went on the Norweigan Fjords cruise from Copenhagen on 5/28/06. Overall the cruise was excellent. The ship was very clean, the crew happy and service was very good. Embarkation and disembarkation was also very fast. The inside room was very spacious and plenty of closet space and drawer space. All the ports were very beautiful and Norway is georgous and definitely worth seeing. The things we did not like was the food. In the buffets it was only average, the dining room was a little better but nothing to write home about. As a person that only speaks English we only numbered 200 on the entire cruise our of 3400 passengers. You have to pay for movies in your cabin. I have been on 8 other cruises and this was a first. Out of 9 channel, only 1 English speaking channel. We did not like that. This is Europe's number 1 cruise company so they definitely cater to Europeans. They were not very courteous to othe other passengers and sometimes downright rude. We did not like that. Everything is in 5 different languages which can be annoying at times. I don't think that I would book Costa again.
