Ireland tours August 2006

Postby nursesue » Wed Jan 25, 2006 1:41 am

Well, I have the time booked off ( 5 weeks) and money saved, and I am going to do another Globus tour. I did Traditional Grand Eurpean 2 yearas ago and loved it. want to do something different this year.
Is anyone going to Ireland this time?
Has anyone been, and if so, what tour did you do and what do you recommend?
Any input, advise or suggestions would be great!
How soon do I have to book for this?

Thanks :o
Looking forward to making new friends in my travel

It's hard to believe that it's been two years since your big trip, nursesue.

I haven't been to Ireland but it is supposed to be beautiful.

Are you going in five weeks or do you have five weeks off?

My sister went to Ireland in January one year and I wouldn't recommend that. Since it is so far north, the days were very short.

Last fall, I did Central Europe (Imperial Splendors) and enjoyed that very much.

Alternatives to Ireland

Postby General Max » Thu Jan 26, 2006 10:34 am

nursesue,

Have you considered Scandinavia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria. Switzerland or Alaska as alternatives to visiting Ireland. We did all of the above and Ireland is still on our list of places to visit but certainly not number one.

Well the sooner you decide, the more time you will have time to research.

Our trip last fall was, to me, on the spur of the moment. We booked it just a little over a month before it started. Then we crammed researching the places we were going to go into the remaining time.

I suppose some tours fill up, but if you are flexible and the one you want if full, you could switch to another.

Thanks :o[/quote] My husband and I took a Globus tour to Ireland in October 2005, the last tour of their season, it was so much fun that we would have done it again this year if we could. We only wish we had spent more time there.

Booking tours in advance

Postby General Max » Mon Jan 30, 2006 10:49 am

We usually book our tours 10 to 11 months out. For example, we booked the Globus tour "Grand Tour of Hawaii" in December 2005. The departure date is October 6, 2006.
