How do you compare Insight with Perillo or Donna Franca to Sicily and Southern Italy?

Went last July with Perillo from Rome south through Sicily. Previously did
"grand tour" of Italy with Perillo and it was absolutely first class. This trip, however, was a bit short of that. Some hotels were wonderful - better than you could hope for on a tour. Others, however were, in the vernacular, clean, no bugs, and nothing more. Our guide was not nearly as good as we have had in the past - with Perillo or Globus. Meals on tour were mediocre, at best. The wine, however, did flow freely at dinner. Part of the reason, I am sure, was that Sicily is not a real "tourist destination" and our guide did not put out his best. Traveling companions were super - many well traveled and lots of fun. I'm afraid this is our last Perillo tour. Have fun, Sicily was beautiful, but having just returned from Greece, it was more and more of the same.

Check out the Boston BBB reports about this company and there are many other negative remarks about them. I am currently trying to resolve an issue with them.

Wow!!!!!!! I just checked out the Boston Better Business Bureau site. I would think they would try to resolve complaints particularily in their own town. I am from Florida and never would have thought of checking the Boston BBB site. No Perillo tours for us.
