I took this trip in October and was very disappointed. Globus, in my opinion, is not interested in you once they have your money. The accomodations were third class and the meals that came with the trip were cheap.
When we were in Switzerland, we stayed at the Royal Hotel. The rooms were extremely depressing ( no pictures. TV in the corner of room behind the bed and no remote control, walls are drab, and bathroom was horrible). . One of the meals included in the trip was at this hotel. It was not good and if you wanted soda, you had to pay for it. They never offered coffee or tea.
Our bus driver became ill when we were going to Paris. We were stuck at a bus stop all day which is not the fault of Globus, but they told us that they would cover dinner. We were told that we could only order two things e.g. if you had salad and dinner, you could not have dessert.. .. .. ..dinner and dessert but no salad. They never apologize for the full day we missed in Paris nor did the give us any compensation for the delay.
I could go on and on, but I will only say that I will never use Globus again!

I took this trip in late September and it was great mostly. Unlike the last poster, I actually enjoyed the Royal Hotel in Switzerland. We enjoyed the scenery very much as our room was facing the waterside with the mountains as the backdrop. We've decided Switzerland is our favorite place and we hope to visit again in the future.

Our host was great as she planned everything ahead. Most dinners were great (the paid one and the included one) except in London. I forgot the name of this optional tour but it was $100 per person with a boat trip after the meal. The boat trip was greate but the meal was bad, especially for $100.

We like all the hotels except the one in Paris. This hotel is in the suburb and far away from the tourist area. On the flip side, we can see how the locals live.

If you’ve never been to Europe, this trip will give you a taste of it.

Thanks for the info. Do you recall the name of the hotel in Paris? Also, what optionals were offered and what was your opinion of those that you took? Thanks!

We stayed at the Royal Hotel in Lucerne on a different Globus tour and were well-pleased with it. We also had the lake/mountain view and I commented in my journal that I could not imagine a more beatiful view anywhere in the world. Our room was a decent size and the duvats were very fluffy. (We were a triple though.) It was within walking distance of the lake, a casino, and the downtown area. There was a nice boardwalk type walkway along the lake which led past the casino and into the main area of the town. Very pleasant.
