Has anyone taken the Emerald Isle Tour with Globus? If so, do you reccomend it? Or was there another Ireland Tour that you think would be better? Planning on going June of 2006

We did this tour last year and it was fantastic. The best shopping is in Killarney so wait until the end of the tour to shop. Dominic was our tour director and he was great. We did most of the optionals and were glad that we did. The shows were great.

:D I did a shorter tour of Ireland with Globus and found that it was excellent both the tour director and driver were great and the hotels were comfortable. I would go back to Ireland with Globus any day.

was kissing the blarney stone an excursion or was it a stop everyone made. I heard it wasnt a big deal, but you can't go to Ireland without kissing the stone for good luck!!

How was the weather?

Blarney Stone

I took the 16 day Highlights of Britian & Ireland 3 years ago and the stop at Blarney was a regular stop before Killarney.THe Blarney stone was on the top of the castle and you got to it by a VERY steep climb up very narrow steps.Even if I had the energy to climb all the way to the top I would not have kissed the stone after hearing how the local boys amuse themselves when they get drunk! The stop was great however, lots of musicians and shopping and beautiful grounds around the castle.
It was a wonderful tour, very busy and a great time!!!. .

I checked the itenerary for this tour and it does mention Blarney as a lunch stop so I am sure you will be able to do it.Globus is very accurate about their tours and will make it clear if you stop there or not.
If it is an optional they will say so.
Have a great time.
I am getting ready to schedule my third trip in so many years with Globus.I fell in love with Venice on my Scenic Delights tour last year and I want to go back and see more of Italy!!!

You will love Ireland. It is just beautiful.I have never seen anyplace so green.Be sure to hit the local pubs for a great party.

Thanks so much! I can't wait until we go. I have been watching some great travel DVD's of Ireland to get me prepared. Im sure we will have many "pub crawls" while we are there!

Have fun in Italy! I want to go back there as well. We took Italian Treasures 2 years ago, and loved it!
