teenager on trip to Japan

Postby polly » Fri Sep 23, 2005 6:56 am

has anyone traveled with a teenage girl to Japan in late May or early June? My granddaughter wants me to take her next summer and I want it to be a trip suitable for both of us.

Teenagers can have fun in Japan

I travelled with my son and my nephew in Japan when they were both 16 years old. They both had a blast! We stayed in Tokyo and Kyoto. Large cities in any part of the world offer so much for young people to see, do, eat, and enjoy. We kept the museum visits to a minimum, spending time shopping, sight seeing, walking, eating, and exploring.

I don't post much on boards or such, but i thought i'd reply. I first went to Japan when i was a 16 yr old girl. I went as an exchange student in a sister city high school exchange program. Since then i have lived and worked in Japan over 15 years of my life. I've also taken my own young daughter for a visit a few years ago, as well as my 60 yr old mother for her first trip last fall. May and early June are great times to visit, you don't have the hot humidity of later summer months, nor the tourists. There is plenty of things for a teenager to see and do. Lots of interesting cultural events, bigger cities offer a variety of activities depending on what she's interested in. Lots of restaurants, plays, beautiful landscapes.i think it will be an amazing trip for you both, and bring many memories you'll always cherish. i wish you the best. travel safely and if you have any other questions, i'd be happy to answer them. genkide~ Maiya
