[b]Is this a worthwhile day trip to add to our Nile Cruise?[/b]

Jojo - when are you going to Egypt? My husband and I are going on 11/23 with an Insight Tour booked through Affordable.

A friend of mine who went two years ago said definitely DO NOT miss Abu Simbel. Other friends who travelled there years ago said the same. We plan to add that to our Nile Cruise.

If you get any info re: what to wear, bring., etc. Please share. Thanks.

We are leaving for Egypt on 11/9 to visit family. The Abu Simbel will be added to our Nile cruise.
A few hints on clothing--they prefer no walking shorts. Shoulders should be covered on the ladies with slacks or skirts to the hem or below. Son said many streets are just plain dirt and thus don't wear real good shoes. You could take better shoes special occasions. Haven't heard about a sweater or light jacket for the cooler evening or Nile cruise

Yes, Abu Simbel was well worth the money for the extra even though it meant a 4:30 am flight from Cairo to Aswan with a connecting flight to Abu Simbel.
We didn't hear anyone complain the extension wasn't worth the time and money.
Be prepared to walk a distance in very fine sand and it can be difficult for some people with walking problems.
Everyone was helpful and ready to be of service.
