I'm planning on taking an escorted tour for the first. I'm wondering which tour company has more singles.

It depends on your age. Contiki tour is catering to 18-35 years old travelers and half of the people join Contiki travel solo. With Contiki, you don't need to pay single supplement if you share a room with person of the same sex.

With Trafalgar tours, I don't think any of the tours has much singles.

single trips

Hi went on two trips but both with AAA and single supplement was high. But having your own room and not sharing is a plus if the person you have to share with is?????

Where are you planning to go??
I had a trip on the trailblazer but it just got cancelled so looking for another one if I can do the date they scheduled me for. Have to ask the boss if I can get the time off.

I'm 56 pushing 57.. .

Do a yahoo search of single travel---I think there 's actually a website that has tours that cater specifically to singles.. ..I myself am 33 and part of that group and am happy to find ONE single person on a tour these days.
If I'm not mistaken, it's like www.singlestravel.com or something. But at any rate, it's nice to know that not EVERYTHING is geared towards couples!!!! :?
My solution to everything---TAKE A VACATION!

Traveling Alone

Postby Kim....M » Tue Oct 11, 2005 8:38 pm

I have traveled alone for years. Most of my dearest friends cannot afford trips to Europe. It gets a bit lonely, but I really dont like sharing a room with someone I don't know. I have often thought about going on a singles tour; but wondered if it was a hook me up tour. I met a gal once at an airport in Europe, she ended up living in the same state as me. We agreed to go on a trip together. It was ok, other that she did'nt like that I went out of the tour group each night and explored on my own. Complaints about waking her up at night and so forth. I would, if I could find the right companion, go again. Thinking on an Eastern Europe trip for fall of 2006.

I find that the budget tours get more singles. I've done a budget Trafalgar in Italy and a budget APT in Tasmania which had quite a few singles, though some often travel together like a mother daughter, or two sisters, or two friends. I've observed most of these singles to be women.

I have taken Trafalgar tours to Italy, London and Paris alone. Yes it is a bit lonely but I rather travel alone than travel with the wrong companion, or worse, stay home. I am 55 and will continue to go solo. The premium that you pay for a single room is a small price to pay when you are able to find solitude after being with a group all day.
