We did that cruise last year. The airport at Papaette is a zoo. Always. Besides that fact, the cruise is really nice. You will be sailing on an old R ship. I'm not sure if it's the R-3 or R-4 but the Tahitian and the new Pacific are old R ships. The passenger load is less than 680, the decor is elegant. However, those R ships bob like corks in the water. We used to sail on Renaissance and believe me we have had some very scary moments, things flying around our room, grabbing on the mattress to keep from rolling out of bed. That's the worst case scenario but it has happened to us twice so I boarded the Tahitian with tons of misgivings. Although we did not experience good weather, and we did bounce around quite a bit (two of the officers we had lunch with agreed with us about the R ships) we had a very nice cruise. It's a place everyone should see. I would fly back for a couple of weeks in Moorea and Bora Bora. It's a great chance to take a look at where you'd like to return. The dress code was practically non-existant. We did dress for dinner but casually every night except for the formal nights and then we didn't do the tux-long dress thing. My husband wore a dark suit and I wore a somewhat sparkly top and that was it. This is the most casual cruise I have ever been on. Still, Princess won't allow shorts in the dinning room so guys need to bring a couple pairs of nice pants and a couple of nice shirts if they don't want to do the coat and tie thing. It's a good cruise, you'll enjoy it!
