Perillo tours in Italy - general questions

How large are the groups? Are the tours challenging or do they cater to a less mobile crowd? What hotels did you stay at in Rome, Florence and Venice? (The list in the brochure is so long it is hard to tell what they actually use.) How was the food? Thanks

We did the Perillo 14 day italian classic in May and it was wonderful.
It can be tiring, up and out early every morning, but you see so much and the guides are so knowledgeable. The restaurants were excellent; only one dinner was not as good as the others. 'we were taken to scenic restaurants, overlooking Florence for one and the palace in Rome another. Some people thought it was "grueling"; we thought it was worth every penny. :D

I forgot to mention the hotels. All were first class and accomodating. The hotel restaurants, where we dined the first might in a different city, were also good. We ended the tour in Rome and travelled west to visit family. The hotel kept our baggage for us until we returned several days later when it was time to fly home - at no cost.
