Going to Vegas for the first time with my 24 and 21 year old daughters, August 6-9. Want to stay on the strip. any great tips for great hotel at the best rate possible. things I have to do?

Go see the old strip at night. It is an experience that you wont forget. Bellagio fountains before 8 pm. The grand canyon tour that starts early in the morning is worth it. Cost about 150 per person but you get fed in the process. The dam is interesting. You can also get a list of free shows and events all over the place. Watch out for the timeshare people, they are everywhere unless you want tickets or meals for an hour and a half of your time. hope this helps

Well girls, for a weekend on the strip in Vegas you will find no cheap hotel rates. Of cheaper hotels, the Flamingo is a much improved hotel, great pool area many near by thing to see. It is going to be hot so the less walking you have to do the better. The Luxor much farther south but still close to many things and again a pretty good pool area. I don't think you will find any thing on the south end of the strip much cheaper and still be a better quality hotel. Good clubs at Luxor, Mandalay Bay, NYNY and MGM all not far to walk from the Luxor. Have a great trip.
