Granddaughter (22) and I (66) had a fine time on our first trip to Europe! Here are my picks for the best things we chose to do: Our London excursion to Bath, Stonehenge and Salisbury with Golden Tours because it was not offered by Globus on the days we were in London. Versaille and the Eiffel Tower . . The Louvre and Napoleon's apartments. The Pilates Mountain trip. Burano by water boat in the Venice Lagoon. Our serenaded gondola ride in Venice even tho it was too expensive for the lengthe of the ride. the Vatican and museum and our guide there who got us within 10 feet of the new pope on a Wednesday morning in the rain! Our farewell dinner in Rome at the opera dinner. And our great tour bus driver Antonio who turned out to have the same last name as we did-Italian and uncommon! How rare was that?
Here are a few things I wish we had time to do: Boat trip on the Seine at night. Westminster Cathedral, More museums in London ( the free ones). . You just run out of time!
