We are thinking that would like to try the Whitehouse next. I would love to hear comments on it. One thing I want to know, is there fleas on the beach? I know that sounds funny, but I actually heard that! Okay, so how serious is it?
Thanks for your comments! |

we went a while back (at least a while back as far as the life of that place goes). back in february we got bit a lot i guess, but we really didn't notice that it was on the beach. we just thought they were around. when we got back we heard a lot of people complaining about it and we thought "yeah that was what happened to us." it's not really a big deal. like i said, we didn't really even think about it much until we got home and heard other people talking about it. it is absolutely a gem of a resort, though. huge, great beach, great staff. you should go. _________________ --the doc

The answer to "are there fleas on the beach?" is a definite "yes!" They are sand fleas. Maybe, some people call them other names like "no-see-'ums" but, bottom line they bite. It can range from no more problem than a mosquito bite or if you are very allergic, you can have large welts from the bites.
I have been to SW twice. Sand fleas were a problem both times but, after the first time I learned and kept a bug repellent on myself at all times. |

Hi dr,
My husband and I travel to Mexico or the Caribbean each year in Dec., Jan., Feb., and March. So, when the good deal for SW came up I booked for Feb. and March, 2005 and Dec. 2005.
That is the reason for two vacations to the same resort in such a short time. We travel during those months anyway, and the price couldn't be beat.
In Feb., we stayed at SW for nine nights but, in March, we split the time between SW and SMB. Also, next December we will be splitting our time once again.
Now, I have answered your question and I have one for you in return. Are you having any luck getting those SSG points returned to you? Or are the points just gone forever? Do you think you will ever return to a Sandals resort or are you burned out on Sandals because of all that has happened to you? |

| Wow Max...you sure travel a lot! We booked Whitehouse because of the price too. At 50% off we could not resist it. We are going in Nov. |

i got the $$$ for the points, but that's not the same thing. they were deposited in our checking account and are now used up. i wanted the points so that next time i went i'd have a special discount waiting on us. no worries, we'll be at sandals for our free vacation in 06 and hopefully it will lure us back into good graces. _________________ --the doc
